The variety of landscapes, the hospitality of its people, the light, are characteristics of Morocco. The photographers who since 1860 visit Morocco, have made extraordinary images. First in Tangier and Tetouan, then from the beginning of the 20th century throughout Morocco, Did, Marrakech, the Atlas, the great south. Magnificent portraits, landscapes constitute an exceptional set of images.
The photographs presented in this exhibition date mainly from the years 1920 and allow to realize an important part of the rich heritage of Marrakech.
The Saadian tombs are located north of the Almohad qasba in Marrakech. This sumptuous funeral complex was restored in 1917 by the Department of Fine Arts and Historical Monuments.
