Marcelin Flandrin
Draped women, Casablanca
Circa 1930

Marcelin Flandrin (1889-1957), photographer installed in Casablanca from 1921, created a monumental work dedicated to Morocco. Attentive to social transformations, to town planning and scenes of daily life, he has built up an exceptional fund, preserved today by the Maison de la Photographie de Marrakech. This photograph shows draped women in Casablanca, reflection of his precise and sensitive look at Moroccan daily life and the beauty of lights and contrasts.
