Presented at Micro-folie, this screening highlights a selection of unpublished documentaries made in the years 1950 by René Bertrand. Witnesses to an era in Moroccan history, these films constitute valuable archives which allow us to discover, through the eyes of a photographer, fragments of the social and cultural life of the country in the middle of the 20th century.
The images reveal scenes from everyday life, landscapes and moments of traditional dance, offering a sensitive insight into the cultural practices and lifestyles of the time. By their documentary dimension, these films contribute to the preservation of a collective memory and invite us to take a close look at the richness of Berber traditions and cultural expressions..
Through the language of audiovisual, this projection thus offers a journey through time, allowing the public to rediscover a page of Moroccan heritage and question the social and cultural transformations that have marked the country over the years 1950.
