If Vogel is known for the importance of his editorial work, he was a talented photographer. Came to Morocco for a military period, he produced photographic companions and contributed to several publications. He took the initiative in the work, which is generally attributed to Jean Gallotti “The Arab Garden and House in Morocco” in 1926 :
“I have a lot of great shots, on the other hand I asked Laprade, architect of the new palace of the general residence, to reserve for me a choice in the charming drawings of which his notebooks are full : the illustration is already assured”. (Letter from Vogel to Gallotti, 1918)
Likewise he published 1920: ” Moroccan silks: the belts of Fez” container 50 color plates. The use of photogravure innovated the editorial process.
In 1930 Vogel, under the direction of Jaques Majorelle published “The Atlas Kasbahs”, drawings and paintings enhanced with metals.
