1886-1962
Son of Louis Majorelle, Nancy cabinetmaker, he settled in Morocco in 1917 and performed from 1921 expeditions in the Atlas, despite the unfavorable opinions of the military. He then published the account of his expeditions under the title : "Travel diaries of a painter in the Atlas and Anti-Atlas". The publication "Atlas Kasbahs", in 1930, a series of tempera compositions mixed with gold and silver powder, constitutes a synthesis of this part of his life and his work. His photographs are less known but of high quality.
