During his long career, he traveled the world for WHO and UNESCO, adopting an almost sociological approach. His work includes more than 100 000 negative, kept in Berlin by the AKG agency. He illustrated the tremendous changes in post-war society. He also taught in Bordeaux and published in 1975 on the theme of photography as a means of information, book in which he developed the theory of the "theme of the hierarchy of components".
