The Qubbat al-Bârûdiyyîn

The oldest monument preserved in elevation of Marrakech is a real lesson in elegance and refinement. Built in 1125-1126 to serve as a pavilion for ablutions at the neighboring mosque desired by the Almoravid sovereign ‘Alî ibn Yûsuf, he testified both to the fascination that the Muslim creations of the Iberian Peninsula could exert and to the capacity of Maghrebian artists to disseminate and reinterpret the models of al-Andalus From the first half of the 12th century, Marrakech was the home of artds. The qubbat al-Bârûdiyyîn is undoubtedly one of the rare testimonies.
